Basic page

The Basic page contains the most important parameters and settings. If you click Connect and the modem has not finished its startup procedure, the time of retrieving data from the modem may be twice as long as in the normal case.

Here is the description of all parts of the Basic window.

Device info

Contains device name firmware version and hardware version

Hardware reset (voltage cut off)

You can set a hardware reset period (in hours) and reset start time.

Connection self check

Address - the address of the server we are going to ping. You can provide IP or domain address of the server. Ping - the number of pings sent when trying to check the connection to the server. The number of pings can be set from 1 to 10. Default value is 4. Timeout - response timeout for each of the pings. The response timeout can range from 1 to 255 seconds. Default value is 4 seconds. Status - enable / disa ble connection self checking. If we want to enable the connection self checking module, the server address must be entered. The connection self - check module is started one hour after the start of this function. Each subsequent connection check is performed every hour. If the server does not respond, the modem will reset. After the modem is reset due to no response from the server, another connection check will be performed one hour after the modem boots up.

Settings from file

To load the configuration press Import button and select .json file with configuration. To export the configuration press Export button and select the directory to save file. To generate report form process of configuration RB900SG modem press Generate re port button. The report consists of all settings stored in the modem.

SIM Control

In this section, it is possible to select the SIM card that we want to use and configure the APN access point. In addition, it is possible to enter the PIN of the SIM card into the modem and collect information about the used SIM card. Check the Force SIM change checkbox if yo u want to force the change of the SIM card when it is not physically placed in the device or is inactive. For example, if the Force SIM change field is unchecked and you switch from SIM 1 to SIM 2 (eSIM), but it is not active, it will automatically switch to SIM 1. The description of the logic of switching SIM cards is described in the modem manual.

GSM module

Contains basic information about GSM module: name, firmware version and IMEI number.

Antenna

Includes settings of connection mode : AUTO/4G/3G/2G , antenna type and signal strength bar.

Device description

Contains individual text description for the device.

Serial

Contains the serial port parameters . You can choose the Baudrate from the list and serial type You can also set Parity , Data bits and Stop bits

Time info

Includes the current time (obtained from GSM or NTP server) and the time that has passed since the device was started (up time). You can select the time source by selecting: GSM - time from GSM provider NTP - time from NTP server (you need to provide the server a ddress and port

Server info

Here you can check the device IP and protocol, set Config port (for remote connection to the Teleorigin Manager) and Data port (for remote connection to the meter).

GSM network

Here you can find the name of the network provider, GSM/GPRS connection status, LAC and Cell ID codes.

Other

Here you can find the battery voltage, modem temperature and modem power limit. The power limit depends on the model of the energy meter connected to the modem. This field should be configured according to the recommendations of the meter manufacturer.

Power limit: • Level 1 3 W setup dedicated for Itron SL7000, Itron ACE6000 MK4 • Level 2 1 W setup dedicated for Itron ACE6000 MK2 • Level 3 Off setup dedicated for modems supplied by external power adapter. For other meter type please check the max power output of the power port.

Configuration backup

Note: This function is available form firmware version 3.3.0. Configuration backup saves in backup memory the current s aved configuration in the modem. In case of memory corruption, the backup will be restored as the current configuration of the modem. Before using this button, it is necessary to save configuration in modem with the Save settings button.

To save configuration backup, follow this instruction: 1. Configure the modem. 2. Save settings with Save settings button. 3. If you click Save data backup button, should be appear message box with time countdown, like on the below screen.

4. After backup saving, the label should change status for Backup: saved

If you want to disconnect the modem from the application and the backup has not been saved, a message will be displayed asking if you want to save the backup.
