This page contains connectors description of RBMTX-Viper router.
Power supply connector
Please use power adapter which is included in package. It ensures “clean” power supply input and avoids short transients on power supply lines originating from inductive load switching. The power supply connector is a 2-pin connector for external DC power supply. Power supply range of RBMTX-Viper is 9..30 V DC.
Pin | Name | Direction | Description |
---|---|---|---|
+ | V+ | IN | 9..30 V DC |
- | GND | - | Ground |
NOTE: The device is switched off by removing the external power supply from the electric socket. The electric socket must be located close to the device and easily accessible.
Main SIM card holder
External, main SIM card holder is placed at the front of the RBMTX-Viper router (as shown below). To insert a SIM card into the holder, press the yellow button, eject the black drawer, place the SIM card inside it and insert drawer into the modem (you will hear "click"). To operate the module in a GSM/LTE network, it is necessary to insert active SIM card from the network provider.
Second SIM card holder (SIM2) in RBMTX-Viper is placed above the main SIM holder (SIM1).
NOTE: To manage SIM cards of the router check RBMTX-Viper Interfaces and RBMTX-Viper Watchcat
Antenna connectors
GSM antenna connector
SMA antenna connector placed on back panel is used to connect external GSM/UMTS/LTE. It must be connected to establish a connection with GSM/UMTS/LTE network. When signal strength is poor please use outdoor directional/omnidirectional or indoor antenna.
Note: If the antenna is not connected, connection with GSM/UMTS/LTE network will be impossible. Note: Make sure you don't tighten the antenna too much. The torque setting of SMA connector is 0.15 – 0.20 NM.
WiFi antenna connector
Router is equipped with WiFi SMA male connector placed on front panel and it is used to connect external WiFi antenna.
Note: If the antenna is not connected, connection with WiFi network will be impossible.
Note: Make sure you don't tighten the antenna too much. The torque setting of SMA connector is 0.15 – 0.20 NM.
GPS/GNSS antenna connector
An SMA "GNSS" input is used to connect an external GNSS antenna. To establish connection with GPS/GNSS sattelites and check the coordinates of the device, an external antenna must be used and should be located outdoors.
LTE diversity antenna connector
An SMA "DIV" input is used to connect an external diversity antenna to improve reception.
Interfaces
Router serial port: RS485
Serial RS485 (3-pin connector marked as "RS485") is placed on back panel of router. Serial connector pinout is described in a table below:
Pin no. | RS485 signal |
---|---|
1 | GND |
2 | A |
3 | B |
Ethernet ports
RBMTX-Viper has four Gigabit Ethernet ports (1 x WAN and 3 x LAN). The WAN interface is used to connect the router with external networks and the LAN interfaces are used to connect local networks. The WWW configuration is available in the web browser (default IP address is 192.168.1.234). You can change the default address as described in RBMTX-Viper_Interfaces.
GPIO
GPIO connector pinout is described in a table below:
Pin no. | GPIO | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | IN1 | Isolated input |
2 | IN1 GND | |
3 | IN2 | Dry contact |
4 | IN3 | Digital input 30V |
5 | AIN | Analog input |
6 | GND | Ground |
7 | OUT1 | Open drain output |
