Local update

To update the device firmware, press "..." button, select the path to the new firmware file and press Update button and wait for finish.

Firmware package is delivered as archive package which is encrypted.

Note: After a successfull firmware update from version 3.0.5, it is necessary to wait about 3 minutes for the automatic modem restart.

Multi device remote update

Note: This functionality is available to update modem with firmware version 3.1.0 and higher Note: This functionality is in testing phase.

To do multi device remote update follow this instruction:

1. Load device list form CSV file.

2. Load firmware package. Firmware is delivered by manufacturer.

3. If you want to generate report after update process, check checkbox signed as 3 on the screen.

4. To start update press Start update button and wait for modems update finish.

Note: With poor coverage and 2G technology, this process may take from 10 minutes to 30 minutes for a single modem. The number of modems updated in parallel depends on the performance of the computer on which the application is running.

Emergency firmware update

With the help of the application, it is also possible to perform an emergency modem update if the update fails for some reason and the modem is blocked in the bootloader. Such a modem will be detected automatically while searching for devices. If you want to update such a modem with buggy firmware, you need to select the Yes button.

NOTE: During the emergency update, it is necessary to put a jumper in the modem according to the instructions in the RB900SG manual.
